Microdermabrasion (exfoliating treatment)
Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliating treatment that is
popular with both men and women. For a quick skin pick-me-up,
microdermabrasion gives your complexion a smoother surface and
promotes the growth of healthy new cells. It improves wrinkles,
skin texture and colour by polishing the topmost layer and then
vacuuming away the dead skin cells in a safe, controlled
manner.

Microdermabrasion FAQs
Who will microdermabrasion benefit?
Micro dermabrasion is a great treatment for anyone who wants
their skin to have a healthy luminous glow. However it is
particularly helpful in treating specific skin conditions,
including acne scarring, sun damaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles,
pigmentation, stretch marks, milia and seborrhoea.
Whether you want a one-off treatment for a special occasion or a
specific skin condition treated, our friendly advisors will happily
advise you on how you can get the best from microdermabrasion.
How is microdermabrasion done?
Our practitioner will remove any traces of make up first. She
will then discuss your skin type with you and choose the wand most
suitable for your skin type. The gentle suction action of the
appropriate wand will remove any dead skin. The wand will be used
over the face and neck area.
We use the latest Diamondtome system in our microdermabrasion
procedure. Unique diamond chip wands are used to polish your skin
to reveal its natural radiance and luminosity, reducing fine lines
and rejuvenating your complexion quickly and without
discomfort. After the treatment with the wands a moisturiser
and sun block will be applied.
To get the best results a course of 6 treatments is usually
recommended. A period of 1-2 weeks in between each treatment is
required. The best results are gained from a course of
treatments.
How long will microdermabrasion take?
One session of micro dermabrasion will take approximately 30-45
minutes.
What results can I expect from microdermabrasion?
After microdermabrasion you can expect smoother skin with an
improved texture and more even colour. Microdermabrasion gives skin
a luminous glow, lessens the appearance of wrinkles, stimulates
collagen production and promotes the growth of healthy new
cells.
How long is the recovery period from microdermabrasion?
There is no recovery time necessary with microdermabrasion. You
could easily have the procedure done in your lunch hour.
Are there any after effects to microdermabrasion?
Following the treatment initially your skin will appear a little
bit pink, dependant on how sensitive your skin is, but this will
settle down after a short period of time, usually half an hour.
Are there risks associated with microdermabrasion?
Transform has performed more cosmetic surgery than any other
provider in the UK. As such, we are extremely experienced; there is
no provider better placed to help you become more confident through
non-surgical cosmetic procedure. You can talk through any concerns
you may have at your free consultation.
Can I combine microdermabrasion with other treatments?
The beauty about Microdermabrasion is that is actually enhances
the results of other skin rejuvenation treatments.
Microdermabrasion will make the effects of dermal fillers and Botox last even longer. Microdermabrasion is also
the perfect treatment to combine with IPL and
laser skin rejuvenation, as well as facial peels.
How much does microdermabrasion cost?
One session of microdermabrasion costs from £55.
How do I arrange to have microdermabrasion?
