Mr Akhtar qualified in medicine in 1983, he obtained his FRCS in 1990 and the Intercollegiate Speciality Exam for General Surgery (Sub Specialty Upper Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery) in 1999. Mr Akhtar is currently employed as Consultant Surgeon, Upper GI & Laparoscopic Surgery in the NHS
